About WOmen Build
Our goal with Women Build is to empower women to help families build strength, stability, and independence.
We at Habitat for Humanity of Butte County can provide opportunities for hands-on learning, and given these tools, women can succeed in changing their communities. Our Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.
DID YOU KNOW…
last year marked 50 years since women were guaranteed by law the right to take out their own mortgage as a single woman, without a male co-signer? During those 50 years, we have made great strides and now single women outpace single men as sole homeowners.
2025 SPONSORSHIPS
Happy New Year! The Women Build Fundraiser is a fun, unique, and impact-driven opportunity for women, men, and local businesses in the community to come together to build a stronger community and raise money to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission. Last year 60 women and men and 25 local businesses participated in this event. Once per year, we invite local businesses to join our Women Build Fundraiser Sponsorship Program. Would you be interested?
Sponsorships help Habitat scale our construction projects for working families and sell these homes at no-profit rates, with affordable mortgage terms. As a result, partner families help build a home that would otherwise be out of their financial reach. Since the Camp Fire, we have built 23 homes (17 in Paradise) and fourteen of these families are single moms or dads!
Sponsorships also create a win-win situation for all parties involved, offering businesses an enhanced public profile and possible tax advantages. Supporting a respected nonprofit organization that focuses on addressing housing needs shows you are dedicated to improving our community, while fostering goodwill and positive social change.
Help us lift up our community by sponsoring the Women Build Fundraiser (see flier) or signing up to be a participant. In return, we offer marketing opportunities with Habitat to showcase your business and our partnership. In addition, sponsors receive an invitation to our annual “Thanks for Giving” Event held in November.
Our plan is to build 6-10 homes a year and maintain this growth for the next 10-15 years. With your business as a partner, we can continue this momentum. Thank you for considering this partnership and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to working with you.
