There are many options for Major Gifts
Donor-Advised Fund Gifts
A donor-advised fund (DAF) account is a simple, tax-smart investment solution for charitable giving. You just set up an account and contribute cash, securities, or appreciated assets. You’ll be eligible for a current-year tax deduction and when and decide which charity to give your money.
DAF’s provide a flexible, tax-savvy method of giving that helps to build the quality of life, health and prosperity in our community through the production and preservation of homeownership.
DAF’s are an increasingly popular charitable vehicle and can be established with a number of entities, including community foundations and financial services companies.
This charitable transfer excludes the gift from your gross income for federal income tax purposes and can be especially attractive for donors who do not itemize or would like to keep reportable income down to avoid having social security and other income taxed at a higher rate.
IRA Gifts
If you are at least 70½ years old, you can make a gift of up to $100,000 each year to Habitat for Humanity of Butte County directly from your IRA.
Qualified charitable distributions may be able to reduce your taxes while fulfilling your required minimum distribution.

SAVINGS BONDS
When you redeem savings bonds, you or the person to whom you leave your bonds will owe income tax on the appreciation.
You can eliminate the income tax on bonds you own that have stopped earning interest and that you plan to redeem. Since Habitat for Humanity is tax exempt, 100 percent of your gift of savings bonds will support our mission to bring people together to build homes and strong communities.
security gifts
Easily donate your appreciated stocks, bonds, and/or mutual funds to help build homes.
Giving a gift of publicly traded stock may provide greater tax benefits than giving cash.
